Super Quick Screen Capture with Snip & Sketch

Hello Heroes!

Let’s say that we want to take a screenshot out of what we are having in front of our screen, and then we want to quickly annotate on top of that screenshot.

We can either use the print screen button to take a screenshot off the whole screen and then we can open in paint or PowerPoint and annotate on top of it, save that as an image and then share it with whoever we want to share it, and take a long time doing this….

OR we can use the native snip and sketch app from Windows, which is also called snipping tool in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

To use this, all you have to do is press Shift + Windows button + S. This will open the snipping tool.

In here, we’re going to have several options:

·         We can do a rectangular snip

·         We can do freeform.

·         We can capture a window if we have several windows open

·         We can capture the full screen.

The easiest way is just to use the rectangular one if you don’t have to use a specific shape. So just click and select the area that you want to snip. And you will get a notification with the snip result in the snipping sketch tool on the bottom right corner. Once you click on it, you can directly annotate.

Once we are within annotate, we can highlight, draw, erase, and can customize our annotation tools (change colors, increase width, etc). Then we can either copy directly and paste in our destination (teams, Whatsapp, Powerpoint, you name it), or we can save this Sketch as an image.

Remember that you can use the snip & sketch tool in tandem with the Clipboard, to have quick access to several snips taken on the go. Happy sharing!
