A Step-by-Step Guide to Transcribing Audio Files with Microsoft Word Online
Hello Heroes!
Do you have an audio file that you need to transcribe? If so, you're in luck! Microsoft Word Online has a built-in transcription feature that makes the process fast and easy. In this step-by-step guide, we will show you how to transcribe an audio file using MS Word Online. Let's get started!
How do we start?
First of all, you need to have access to MS Word online. This powerful transcribe feature is not currently available for the Desktop version. You can access MS Word online for FREE with a Microsoft outlook.com or hotmail.com account (you can create it here) or with your MS 365 Subscription.
For the transcribe feature, you have 300 minutes per month to transcribe. If you have reached your limit, you can use another account to finish the transcribe or wait until the next month to renew your limit.
Once inside MS Word, this is all you have to do:
Log into MS Word Online
Click on "Transcribe" located on the menu bar, under the "Dictate" option. (Click on the arrow to see the options under Dictate and you will find Transcribe)
You have the option to start a recording or upload existing audio.
Make sure to select the language in which the audio is recorded at the bottom of the pane. This will ensure that the quality and accuracy of the translation is good
The transcription tool will automatically start transcribing the audio file and will give you different options to customize the output.
Review the text and make any necessary corrections
